If your car is full of icky smells you don’t need to buy some chemical laden tree freshener. Try the following instead:
- Start with a clean car. When you let dirt build up, it gets dusty and gross. For quick cleaning use non-toxic natural cleaning wipes
and a more natural car fabric care cleaner
. You can also use Eco Touch Odor Eliminator
or Earth Friendly Products Stain and Odor Remover
, both of which are less toxic than other cleaners and work well.
- Grab a small cloth bag and fill it with a handful of dried lavender buds, a dash of nutmeg, and a sprinkling of essential oil (orange, lavender or lemon is good). Place the bag under the seat of your car.
- Get a little travel sized spray bottle. Fill it with water and a few drops of organic essential oil. Spray it on your car’s carpet. I would not spray it elsewhere, because essential oils can leave stains.
- Buy some cedar blocks or rings or sachets
and place them under your car seats.
