PS @Christina - about the water bottle. I think it's a normally decent size for a younger kid. Especially a kid who goes to a school where lunch time is set and not much eating or drinking is done outside of lunch time. Cedar goes to a free school, with no set mealtime. Kids eat and drink when they choose - and Cedar LOVES his water so it's with him all day. In the case of a set lunch hour though, the water bottle is prob a fine size.

I must have missed that recommendation for the food jar? But yeah, if you do wash by hand, it should be fine. I actually think the old zipper was awesome. Back in August I was 100% sure the lunch bag wouldn't make it through the year due to the zipper. But we've had literally zero pull issues. Our zipper is working perfectly! It's always good to have less plastic though, so hopefully the nylon is a good switch for Citizenpip. And yes, let me know for sure about the fall line so I can post it.

Hi Jennifer-
Thanks to you and Cedar for testing out our Soup to Nuts kit! Glad you both are getting good use out of it and I just wanted to respond to your concerns. We do recommend hand washing the insulated food jar to eliminate water getting caught in the jar. Also - in our new designs coming out for Fall 2010, we are replacing the lunch bag zipper with a nylon (instead of plastic) zipper which we were able to source lead-free, BPA-free, and phthalate-free. Smoother pull - and still muck-free! Our water bottle will still be an 18 ouncer so that it can fit inside the lunch bag comfortably.
We'll check in with you soon when our new Fall line comes out!
Thanks!

Indeed they do. So I'm working with a company that is just beginning a school fundraiser with an amazing sustainable product. Could I send you some info... just in case you know anyone who might be interested? It's a great product and a super program. I'd love to share it with you. Please let me know if there's somewhere I can send info, so that you have it in your files. Thanks again... I've bookmarked you!

Hey Shane, glad to hear that your family has been working on going green. Kids are a good target for green living skills - they just lap it up :)

Hi there. Just came across your blog and as a mom, I appreciate your tips on how to "green" my family. I've been working on that as well, at home and at work. You've got great advice. Thanks!
